The SCCCD Wellness Matter app addresses the need for creative solutions to meet the need of Mental Health Awareness and Services available to our College Communities. Specifically it is part of our CalMHSA Supported; The State Center Community College District- Student Mental Health consortium (SMHC):Campus Based Grant.The Goals of which are to:1.Formalize means for ongoing collaboration and sharing of information and resources with community partners.2.Administration, faculty and staff training to increase awareness of mental health issues and campus and community resources available to students.3.Develop campus peer to peer support opportunities.4.Establish a stigma reduction program focusing on stress, anxiety, depression and suicidality.5.Create a multilevel system and culture of suicide prevention. 6.Expand best practices and programming for target populations such as student veterans, students with invisible disabilities, and underrepresented minority students.Psychological Services at Fresno City College is committed to enhancing and supporting the intellectual and personal growth of our students. We strive to help students increase their awareness, knowledge, and resources to successfully overcome barriers to academic achievement and to obtain positive Mental Health and Wellness. We work in collaboration to meet the challenge of behavioral change, identity development, and the maintaining of meaningful relationships.
