Stereogram uses Google Cardboard to present vivid 3D images from history.

Powered by the NYPL Stereogranimator (http://stereo.nypl.org), Stereogram allows you to:

-Search over 40,000 historical stereographs by voice

-Browse popular images from Stereogranimator.

-Curate your own list of favorite stereographs.

Stereogram requires a special housing for your smartphone, made to the "Google Cardboard" spec: http://cardboard.google.com

The Nexus 5 is the ideal phone for this app, or any 1080p smartphone that is compatible with Google Cardboard. The experience with other handsets may vary.

INSTRUCTIONS:

* Start browsing popular stereographs just by pulling the cardboard magnet ring when the app starts.

* Pull the magnet to advance.

* Tilt your head down and pull the magnet to see the previous image.

* Pull the magnet ring while looking up, and then say a command.

* Say a search query to search by voice. Try "Japan", "Waterfalls", or "Dogs".

* Say "what can I say" to see a list of available commands.
