Company History

Since 1986, Steve’s Soul Food, Inc. located in the City of Detroit, has been providing Detroit with the extraordinary food through sit down dining, and transportable restaurant. Proprietor, Steve Radden, a retired Detroit Police Officer, has built his empire by contributing to the social and economic fabric of the Detroit metropolitan area. During our 26 year history Steve’s is well recognized in the restaurant business as a company legendary for our delicious cooking as well as catering for a host of society functions. We have dedicated ourselves to providing the best in soul food, desserts and professional catering services.

In the beginning, there was Steve’s Soul Food. Located on Grand River in Detroit, Steve has been creating delicious, mouth-watering soul food for our valued customers since our doors opened. Our flagship restaurant allows our customers to enter into a relaxed environment where they can enjoy luscious down home meals for a reasonable price. We also offer handmade desserts designed to complement each meal. In addition to being our headquarters, all of our catering services are managed from this location.

Steve’s Soul Food, Downtown is located in Detroit’s downtown Historical Warehouse District. Steve’s Downtown provides our customers with a relaxing dining experience complete with the ambiance of the rustic historic building. After an evening of dinning our customers can then go and dance the night away at the Key Club. The Key Club our lounge and bar located upstairs from the restaurant is open to the public and available for private events.

Going a step beyond and continuously setting trends, Steve proudly offers an exciting new addition to the world of corporate catering – The Roving Restaurant. Clients have the option to rent our facility with or without our experienced staff hosting the affair. Our transportable restaurant is equipped to meet every chef’s expectations with state of the art quality and capability. Over the years, Steve’s Roving Restaurant has provided catering services for various events such as:
