Whether you are looking for a quick and easy 5-minute puzzle or a 45 minute nail-biter, this app has you covered. We at Giramo Studio wrote this app for our own enjoyment and love playing this game on our daily commute.

The "New Game" menu will allow you to randomly generate Sudoku puzzles at 5 difficulty levels (Cake, Easy, Medium, Hard, Evil). This happens entirely on your device and requires no internet connection.

In-game, an array of optional helper functions is available from the "..." popup menu button. These keep you from getting stuck, but you don't need to use them if you don't want to. When you successfully complete a puzzle you will begin to populate your highscore list. Currently this is a purely local list, so you are only competing against yourself.

There is also a Puzzle Editor menu, which allows you to input your own puzzle, e.g. from a newspaper. You can start a new game from any valid Sudoku board, as long as it has a single solution (the app verifies this). You can also ask the app to calculate the solution and show it to you.

Feature list:

* Completely free, no ads, no dodgy permissions.

* Generate an unlimited number of puzzles straight on your device.

* 5 difficulty settings (Cake, Easy, Medium, Hard, Evil).

* Undo and redo as much as you like.

* Manual note keeping.

* Optional helper features like auto notes (auto fill once, auto add, auto remove) or validating the current game state to see if you've made a mistake.

* Puzzle editor, e.g. if you'd like to play a newspaper puzzle on your phone.

* Local highscore list, game time statistics and the ability to retry previously solved puzzles.

* Simply turn off your phone or switch apps and your progress will automatically be saved. When you return to the Sudoku app it will be just as you left it.

* Supports portrait and landscape orientation. This will respect your device's orientation lock. When you lock your device orientation it will stay in the device's natural orientation (that's portrait on our Nexus 5 phone).

If you have bugs to report, please email them to us and we will aim to fix them ASAP. You may also email us feature requests. Please do keep in mind, however, that we have full-time jobs and are only doing this in our spare time, without any monetary compensation.

NOTE on device support: We have tested this app mainly on our Nexus 5 phone running Android 4.4 KitKat, as well as a Samsung Galaxy Note 8 tablet (also running KitKat). Currently, most in-game UI elements scale to your screen size, with the exception of text within the main menus and pop-up messages, which have a fixed size (which is screen density independent). If you are having compatibility or UI scaling problems, please send us an email naming your device and android version and attach some screenshots.

NOTE on app permissions: The WAKE_LOCK permission is required in order to prevent your device's screen from sleeping while the game is running.
