SURGERY FORUM is an application exclusively designed for iPhone and iPad. It provides an outstanding interactive visual guide. Its purpose is to bring medical students, junior doctors and general surgery practitioners to a health-care institution; Madrid Sanchinarro University Hospital and ¨Clara Campal¨ Oncological Center, where professional independence has achieved excellence in patient care. This approach is made through the most current, innovative and universal teaching method existing today: the Internet.Through facilitated communication by computer networks, we try to build and develop a more flexible teaching model in which surgical training and communication between professionals through a diverse range of resources take priority over the passive reception of knowledge established in medical meetings attendance. Our challenge is to actively contribute to the joint training of surgical specialists through the exchange of practical experience by audiovisual media, breaking the barriers of time and space.In the application SURGERY FORUM, clinical cases and videos of unusual and often exceptional surgical techniques are shown. Techniques performed by open, laparoscopic or robotic approach for the treatment of complex medical situations. All of them previously presented in the most important scientific forums of the world. Our videos show high scientific rigor, which is manifested by a clear and intelligible information for the student or practitioner.
