This application is for use with Pay-and-Display parking meters that allow you to TXT a code to pay for your parking, as found in the Auckland City region of New Zealand, for example. The application will work with any TXT-to-pay service which involves sending a 5-digit code to the local SMS number #7275 (PARK).

In NZ the system is known as TXT-a-Park™, but similar systems may operate elsewhere in New Zealand and around the world.

How to Use

When paying for your pay and display ticket, select the "TXT-a-Park™" (or equivalent) payment option on the meter and use this application to enter the code for the amount of time you wish to park. Then hit SEND. It's as easy as that !

Why Use It ?

Using this application is far simpler and more reliable than fumbling around with the SMS application of your device. A large, dedicated keypad for number entry makes it harder to key the wrong code, and if you do, simply tap the digit you need to correct and start replacing your code from that point on.

When you're done, hit send and the code will be sent straight to your PARK SMS service provider.

The App Is Free, But What Does It Cost ?

SMS messages are sent using your normal mobile SMS service provider. The usual service charges may apply. For most people these TXT's will cost nothing as they are included in your plan TXT allowance.

The free version of this app is now supported by advertising delivered via internet, so service provider data charges may apply. A low-cost, paid version of the app is available which provides all of the same features but without the advertising.

What Else Is It Doing ?

Apart from sending the entered code to the 7275 SMS number no information is sent to any other party. SMS messages sent using this application may be recorded in your out-going SMS log by your phone, but this is not the result of any specific action by the application.

Other than to the extent necessary when sending TXT messages, no information is read or stored on your device or elsewhere by this application.

NOTE: In this free version of the app, internet access is used (where available) in order to deliver the advertising that enables this version to be free. Data charges may apply. The advertising features also result in a much larger application (1MB+). The low cost, paid for version of the app requires no internet access and the application is much, much smaller (< 30KB).
