Text Invaders

Text is invading from outer space! Your goal is to destroy targets as they come down towards you by aligning your ship with them and typing the target's text into the input box. It is game over if any target makes it to the bottom of the screen. As the levels increase, more targets need to be destroyed to advance to the next level and targets will move faster and become larger, but also give more points (add constraints to the word lengths of targets in settings). Compare your score with others across the world by submitting to an online leaderboard.

Certain targets grant temporary power-ups upon being destroyed:

- Green targets add to a score multiplier

- Purple targets decrease target movement speeds

Actions and Controls:

- Move your ship left and right with the buttons left and right of the text input box

- A shortcut for clearing the input box is to tap the screen in the game area (the input box is also cleared whenever the ship is moved)

- View the definition of the word associated with a target by tapping on the target (requires internet connectivity)

- Press the back button while in game to return to the main menu

Interface:

- Level: the current level

- Next: how many more targets need to be destroyed to advance to the next level

- Score: the current score

- SCx: score multiplier

- SPx: target speed multiplier
