Our goal is to connect the world to the beauty of thangkas and improve the livelihoods of the Tibeatan artists who dedicate their entire lives to the creation of these wonderful works of art.Thangkas are Tibetan silk paintings and embroideries, usually depicting a Buddhist deity, scene, or mandala of some sort. Thankgas are not flat creations like oil or acrylic paintings but consist of a picture panel, which is painted or embroidered over a textile (such as silk) mount. Generally thangkas last a very long time and retain much of their lustre, but because of their delicate nature, they have to be kept in dry places where moisture won’t affect the quality of the silk. They are sometimes called scroll paintings.
