The Daily Word was created to try and make the painful SAT vocabulary review process easier and more enjoyable. We do not expect you to prefer vocabulary review to seeing a movie or going to a party. But, hopefully this app can push vocabulary review close to or above cleaning toilets and eating lima beans on your love list.The hardest part about the vocab review process is pushing yourself to do a little bit of work each day. The temptation is to put it off and then cram the words right before the test. They say slow and steady wins the race, and that is certainly true when it comes to vocabulary review.We named the app "The Daily Word", because each morning you will receive a notification with the Word of the Day. When you receive the notification, take a look at the word and see if it is a word that you know. If not, make a notecard for it and add it to one of your stacks within the app.The Daily Word has 4 main features:(1) A word of the day notification(2) A notecard creation system(3) A notecard review system(4) A GameCenter that provides practice questionsUse the Word of the Day as a daily reminder to review some vocabulary words.Use the notecard creation system to build up stacks of words that you can study. If someone says a word you don't know, load up The Daily Word and create a notecard for it. If you hear a word on the radio you don't know, load up The Daily Word and create a notecard for it. If you see a word on a practice SAT that you do not know, load up The Daily Word and create a notecard for it.Use the notecard review system to build the deep vocabulary you need to dominate the Critical Reading portion of the SAT. Do a little bit each day so that you can give the words the opportunity to work their way to your long term memory.Use the GameCenter to test your vocabulary in context. The app comes with 100 Sentence Completion questions and 100 Synonym Search questions. Try those questions to see which words you know and which words you don't know. What do you do with any word you don't know? You guessed it! Create a notecard. :) The Daily Word is fully optimized for retina display.
