The Long + Short will tell stories of innovation that are thoughtful, hopeful and questioning. We will attempt to give people new vantage points on how the world is changing and how they can make a difference.

The Long + Short is interested in innovation in the broadest sense of the word – where new ideas are coming from, how they grow, expand and take hold in our lives.

At the core of The Long + Short will be long stories mixed with a smattering of shorts – recipes, quizzes, lists, notes, poems – to lighten the load. We want to be serious without being po-faced.

We will come out every quarter but we will not publish an “issue” every three months, in one shot. Instead we will have seasons, publishing a series of long pieces and shorter items in the course of four or five weeks, so that they build up into a collection. Readers can dip in to find and share stories as well as seeing the publication take wider shape over the season. We will be available wherever you are, on your mobile phone, laptop, tablet and desktop.
