A “MAMIL”, for those who don’t know, is the acronym for Middle Aged Man In Lycra. I am an unashamed MAMIL, crashing full speed into middle age. I love to get out on the road and chew up the miles in my quest to cycle 2012 miles in 2012.
My rides include single day sportives, multi-day events and training ride that I track and blog about. I use a Garmin 800 and Strava to show my progress and achievements.
I have taken this challenge to raise money for Vanessa Riddle, a young girl who has a rare childhood cancer called Neuroblastoma, and who needs to travel to Germany for life-saving treatment because the NHS cannot continue to treat her in the UK.
