Trail Meter helps people record their walking/running/biking routes with distance, speed, duration and starting time. The user can choose to save the routes into history for later browsing.

This app works in both online and offline modes, it suits for both urban area street walking/biking/running and outdoor mountain area hiking where no cell phone service is available.

Once the user starts to walk/bike/run, the app will draw the route while the user moves and keeps records of the distance and speed data. The user can stop and save the route into history or resume to continue the route.

The green balloon indicates the starting point, and the red balloon indicates the end point. Map address and Geo-location information can be obtained by tapping each balloon.

By browsing the history, the user can see the accumulated walking/running/biking routes that happened in the past to track their progress.

Version 2.0.2 added following new features:

. Users can share their routes on facebook, email, whatsapp, weChat, etc, user can choose to share privately with friends or publish their routes on www.everytriplan.com to benefit other hikers;

. Before sharing the route, users can upload the photos taken along the routes, make sure the phone camera location tag is turned on otherwise the photos taken would not have geo location tag information. ( From "Camera" to "Settings" icon, then "Settings" icon again, turn on "Location tag", this is the example for Samsung phone, other brands may vary).

. Users can download other people's routes from www.everytriplan.com to their phone locally and start to follow by choosing the "Follow a download trip" radio button, this works great in some places where there is no established trail and no cell phone service.

. Once users saves their trail to local history, they can use it to back trace their original route anytime by choosing "Trace a history trip" radio button, this can provide various benefits such as finding exactly where the trail started and where users have been to.

. Photo thumbnails will be tagged on map route with the exact geo location that the photos were taken. If users share them privately without choosing "publish the route", these photos would only be seen by users and their friends privately via the shared link.
