Trail Trace is a simple way to estimate distances on a topographic map - just draw the route on the map with your finger or a stylus.
It's useful for planning hikes, runs, or any other adventures that take you away from the pavement. (Of course, it can measure distances on roads, too.)
Using Trail Trace is simple:
1) Search for the location of your route
2) Open the pencil screen to draw your route on the map
3) Tap the ruler icon to measure your traced route
For the most accurate measurement, take your time tracing the route. Dont be afraid to draw lots of little lines, for accuracy - Trail Trace will connect the dots for you.
If you draw multiple lines next to each other, the app will smooth them together to produce a more accurate estimate, so also feel free to overlap those traces a little bit at the tips.
Remember that no matter how accurately you draw your route on the map, Trail Trace will not be 100% accurate. All data are provided for informational purposes only - we can't guarantee their accuracy.
