The Venn Master helps graphically solve counting problems involving two or three sets by constructing a Venn diagram for you. Enter all of the known information and the Venn Master will calculate the diagram. If the information is inconsistent, the Venn Master will indicate the problem is not solvable.

Once a problem is solved, select regions of the diagram to have the Venn Master compute the total selected size. It will also display a mathematical description of the selected set.

If available, be sure to enter the size of the Universal set and/or the size of the region outside of A, B, and C. These sizes are often known, but often overlooked. Sometimes problems will not directly state that the size of the region outside of A, B, and C is zero. If this is the case, be sure to enter the zero size into Venn Master, otherwise it will not be able to solve the problem. You need at least 8 known sizes to solve a three set problem, and at least 4 known sizes to solve a two set problem.
