We created our flagship product -- the Village X App -- to turn local meals and online shopping into much-needed donations for small-scale, community-led, transparent projects in Africa, starting in Malawi and Ghana, and soon in the U.S. The App allows users to get a discount, give some savings to a chosen grassroots project (it's tax deductible), and see direct impact through live picture updates provided by recipients. Partner businesses (local and online companies) participate simply by offering goods or services to our users at reduced prices. Applying our Peace Corps experiences and networks, we find and vet projects in underserved communities at a fraction of the cost of conventional NGOs. Communities invest their money, do most of the work, and receive the lion's share of benefit.
