Volt is Istanbul's inner city ride sharing application. Volt aims to fill up the empty seats in traffic by matching drivers and passengers going in the same direction.

The Volt app is a community-based social ride sharing platform that helps you connect and share a ride with people you trust already.

Communities on Volt are universities, residential compounds, and companies that you are a part of. So, if you are worried about sharing a ride with strangers, simply join your communities on Volt and share a ride with people that you already trust.

Getting Started:

★ Log in with Facebook and verify your phone number.

★ Join your community to add more trust to your profile.

★ Complete your Volt profile details so people can feel comfortable sharing a ride with you.

How to use Volt as a driver:

★ Tell us where you are going, when, and how many empty seats you have in your car to offer a ride

★ If you see someone going in the same direction, invite them to your ride

★ We will notify you when we find a passenger going in the same direction!

★ Receive part of the cost of your ride

How to use Volt as a passenger:

★ Look for rides around you

★ Tell us where you are going and when to leave a request for a ride

★ We will notify you when we find a driver going in the same direction!

★ Split the cost of the ride with the driver right over the app

All Volt users have the option to accept or decline any matching rides. All Volt users rate and review each other at the end of the ride to increase trust. Also, Volt requires Facebook login for security purposes, but we expect that users will benefit from being able to see mutual friends with their Facebook connection.
