Winmail.dat Opener is an app to open those pesky winmail.dat attachments.These attachment occur, when an email is sent through a badly configured MS Email infrastructure. Sometimes Outlook or the Exchange Server packs all attachments into a TNEF envelope.Most of the non MS email clients cannot handle those TNEF envelopes. They will instead show an attachment called winmail.dat.The app itself registers as a handler for *.dat files. When you try to open a "winmail.dat" attachment from your email client, the app will be launched.
