Word Cloud Challenge is a fun way to associate vocabulary with the spoken word, by presenting some of the most commonly used words in the English language.

After the app says a word, the student taps the word on the screen that matches the spoken word. If the correct word is touched, it will disappear. If a wrong word is touched, it will stay on the screen. If the student does not tap on a word, the correct word will be repeated twice before moving on to the next word.

The Results screen shows how the player did in the game just played (Latest), the previous score (tap Play 2, and the one before that (tap Play 3). This screen shows the percentage of correct words on the first, second, or third try. The percent of words that were not touched correctly after three tries are shown under “Not yet”.

The Admin Center allows a teacher to manage students or view the student results and past performance.

Each game has ten target words plus five extra words.

Word Cloud Challenge features words from many chapter books used for reading practice including Sound Out Phonics-Based Chapter Books (www.highnoonbooks.com/soundout). Sound Out Chapter Books are not required to play the game.
