Six awsome puzzle games in one great app.

There are lots of games that incorporate elements from the British quiz show Countdown, 'Words & Numbers' is different in that it combines these elements with three other rounds that test the players memory, speed and maths skills, the end result is a challenging and addictive game for anyone who enjoys word and number puzzles.

Rules

Word Round

In each word round the player must select nine letters, by pressing either the consonant or verb button. Each time the buttons are pressed either a consonant or a verb are selected at random, once the ninth letter is chosen the clock begins and the player has thirty seconds to come up with the longest word they can think of using the letters. The amount of points scored is equal to the length of the word.

Numbers Round

In each numbers round two large numbers, either 25, 50, 75 or 100 and 3 smaller numbers from 1-9 are chosen at random along with a target number. The object of the game is to make the target by adding, subtracting, multiplying or dividing together the given numbers. If his is done successfully then twelve points are awarded, if the target is missed a point deducted for each number the amount entered varies from the target. For instance if the target is 250 and the player enters an equation which gives 247 the player scores, nine. The equations must be entered following the BDMAS convention. In other word, whatever is surrounded by brackets will be assessed first followed by division then multiplication, addition and subtraction.

Memory Game

Twenty words appear on the screen you are given 30 seconds to memorize them, followed by two minutes in which to recall them. The final score is equal to the amount of words remembered.

Flash Maths

In this round you are given 90 seconds to solve a series of mental arithmetic problems which get progressively harder as the clock counts down.

High-Low

A group of numbered buttons appear on the screen, after five seconds the numbers disappear and then the buttons must be pressed from those that had the highest numbers to those that had the lowest. If the buttons were pressed in the correct order the player will score one point and a new group of buttons with one extra button will appear.

Hidden Word Round

The hidden word round is a test of both vocabulary and memory. The player must press each of the nine buttons in turn to reveal the letter they correspond to decipher the anagram and then remembering which button corresponds to which letter enter the correct answer. If the player gets the answer correct 12 points are awarded.
