The Young Readers Birmingham UK Annual Festival is run by Birmingham Library and Archive Service with over 160 events taking place in libraries, museums, theatres and at Aston Hall, one of Birmingham's most treasured buildings.

The Book Bash is a highlight of the Young Readers Birmingham UK Festival and this year will take place on Monday 4th and Tuesday 5th June at Aston Hall. 2012 will be the biggest and best Book Bash yet, with great activities for children, young people and their families.

There will be eight marquees packed with entertainment including appearances by top children's, authors, poets, storytellers and magicians. Come along for a chance to meet some great children's book characters and to take part in our Magical Tea Party. Activities will also include mehndi hand painting, face painting, craft workshops, a book shop and you can also join your local library.

You can also join us for our fantastic Jubilee Picnics to celebrate the Queen's Diamond Jubilee.

First event 11am, closes 4.30pm. All events are free to enter, simply queue up outside your chosen Marquee (The only limitation on entry will be the capacity of the tent). For Workshops book up at the Help Desk & Bookings Marquee.

Also admission to Aston Hall during Book Bash is free to all visitors
