The older you get, the less you hear; specially high-frequency tones. This is known as age-related hearing loss (or presbycusis): the cumulative effect of aging or hearing.

However, it has been seen that people who take good care of their bodies experiment a slower hearing loss, while there are others that lose their hearing quite prematurely, specially if they consistently expose themselves to loud music or sounds.
