Jonathan Shapiro, the South African cartoonist a.k.a. “Zapiro”, knows how to hit his target with every cartoon. Internationally known and admired, having received prestigious awards for the products of his sharp pen, he does not shy away from any criticism of his work even when, for example, his country president, Jacob Zuma, sues him.

Since 1996 Zapiro has, every year, released a book of his best work published in the South African Sunday Times, The Times, The Sowetan, Independent Newspapers and the Mail & Guardian. So far he produced 17 cartoon books. This app includes Zapiro’s complete collection of annuals including the books that are no longer available in print. In content the app is the same as the print edition. Extra enhanced navigation and search features are added to help find specific cartoons easily. Zapiro left personal messages describing the background of some of his favourite cartoons: this makes the app unique.
