In 1975, Agnès b. opens the first women’s wear store at 3, rue du jour, in an old butcher’s shop in les Halles, Agnès b. is the first designer to set up shop in this up and coming neighborhood.

As a keen observer of life, from which she seeks her inspiration to design single-handedly each year’s collection: FEMME, HOMME, SPORT B. and ENFANT. She likes her clothes to be “less important” than the person wearing them. Whenever designing her clothes, she always keeps in mind of all walks of life, the ordinary people, who will be wearing them.

In terms of design, clothes are simple and never-go-out-of-style. They are comfort in nature that one can keep for a good while and each season will see new pieces and basics coming to complement one’s multi-facet wardrobe.

After having designed clothes to make life simpler, Agnès b. started to include other collections: VOYAGE, MONTRES, BIJOUX, BEAUTE, LE b. and LUNETTES, in desire to add more happiness and beauty to people around the world.

Design of Agnès b. is more than fashion. Her desire is to clothe people’s feelings, emotions and lives. Agnès b. acquires most of her inspirations from her passion towards arts & culture. Music, photography and traveling are part of her life. All these have driven her will to open fashion alternatives of LIBRAIRIE GALERIE (gallery), CINEMA (cinema), FLEURISTE (florist), LA MAISON SUR L’EAU (travel concept store), LE PAIN GRILLÉ (restaurant), DÉLICES (chocolate), music store and book store.
