What do you know.. ANOTHER notepad app. But if it is something basic you are looking for, basicNote is as basic as can be. It is easy to use, stylish and the layout is very simple which gives you more room for notes. In many ways it works just like the standard 'Mini Paper' Android widget - just with a sleaker design.

The basicNote widget is 4x3 ONLY, and all instances of the widget will show the same text.

The design and functionality is based on 'JetNote' by Stylus Labs. Their application can do more, but when I made this they only had widgets in 2x1 (and with the Plus edition: 2x2, 4x1, and 4x2). I, however, needed 4x3 so I had to make my own version! - If you need other widget sizes, I can only recommend JetNote :)

Bear in mind that I am a total newbie at Java and Android coding, but I have not found any major bugs so far (see 'Known bugs' further down). I might develop this application further in the future, but for now it works well enough for me.

The new v1.2.1 of basicNote is made for Android v4.1.2 and has been tested on:

All versions before v1.2.1 are made for Android v2.3.3 and have been tested on:

- Sony Ericsson Xperia mini

Known bugs:

- If you place more than one instance of the basicNote widget on you home screen, only the most recent instance will be able to open the text-editor when you click/tap it.
