What nearLink does:

nearLink is a mobile application for Android phones (stay tuned for other mobile platforms) that allows you, the user, to exchange information from one device to another. How nearLink does it:

nearLink uses Bluetooth, WiFi, Edge/GPRS, 3G, and 4G connections to locate and transfer information between mobile devices. It seamlessly transfers information (profiles) without the need for any configuration or knowledge of those devices nearby. nearLink removes the difficulty of having to know someone's screen name, nick, email, or handle, or other information to add as a friend, or to follow. The only requirement for nearLink to work is that another user is nearby. The common range of operation for the application varies, but it usually is limited to within 100 meters.
