Do you hate having to dig through your SMS inbox to find out where your mobile money is going? Would you like to delete some of those messages and still keep a record of your mobile money transfers? Would you like to be able to generate monthly statements or statements for transactions organized by type, direction of cashflow, recipient or groups of people? Do you sometimes wonder why you sent a certain amount to someone? It would be helpful if you could write a note against each transaction while it is still fresh in your mind.

pesaDroid is a simple Android app that keeps track of your MPESA transactions and helps you to generate monthly statements from your mobile money transfer history. This edition has been code named Alfajiri.

Many of our users use Alfajiri to organize their expenses into groups and to safely store their transactions in case they have to delete the SMS to create more space in their memory. Our app also allows them to attach a note to each transaction, so that they can remember the reason for sending money. With Alfajiri, it is possible to send a MS Excel statement via email or to save the statement in the phone's memory card.

We have also introduced a backup and restore feature to enable our users to move their data from one phone to another. Privacy obviously is an important concern for our users. We do not collect any information without the explicit consent of our users. Our app is restricted from accessing the Internet so you can rest assured that we can never acquire any of your financial information. The emailing feature depends on whichever application you have installed in your system - and the messages are sent only to the email address that you select.
