This is an awesome little app that you can use either as a timer for rounds or what it is intended for as a sparring game. Developed by Rodney King, the Creator of the world famous modern martial arts program, the Crazy Monkey Defense Program. The Sparring Deck was created based on a very successful and fun sparring game Rodney developed for his clients. The great thing about this application is that you can play this sparring game with your buddies or your clients no matter if you train or coach Mixed Martial Arts, Kickboxing, Boxing or Muay Thai. If you want to just use this application as a timer, you can set your rounds anywhere from 10sec to 10min and do the same exactly for the break between rounds. The sparring game itself is easy to play. Between the two people who will be sparring ask them to choose which color they would like to be RED or BLUE. The application will then randomly assign a technique or strategy to be used for each color. When the timer goes, each side is only allowed to use the technique and or strategy that was assigned to the color they chose. So for example RED may be Jab and BLUE may be Cross. This means who ever is on the RED side can only work a Jab while sparring, while whom ever is on the BLUE side can only work the Cross. Every new round the application will chose at random a new technique or strategy for each color. This is a great if you are coaching a lot of people , where you can then separate half the class into RED and the other half into BLUE. Every round of sparring each side will have to work something totally different. All the strikes on the game will be very familiar to someone with a modern striking game. The only ones that need defining further are below: Defense Only (The person who gets this card can only work hand defense. We recommend using the Crazy Monkey Defense hand defense for this card) 3-Point Combinations (Any 3-point combinations. You can have the person do any random 3-point combos for the whole round or choose only one for the whole round to make it interesting) 6-Point Combinations (Any 6-point combinations. You can have the person do any random 6-point combos for the whole round or choose only one for the whole round to make it interesting) Evasive Tactics Only (Any kind of evasive tactics only. Slips, bob & weave, duck. No hand defense allowed) All Guns Fire (This means the person who gets this card can do any kind of hand strikes, in any combination or number of punches). Lead Handicap Card (Take lead arm away, tuck behind back, spar only with rear arm) Rear Handicap Card (Take rear arm away, tuck behind back, spar only with rear arm)
