This Fraction Calculator application converts a decimal number in inches to a mixed number (whole and fraction number) in 1/16 inches, ready for applying to a standard tape measure.

Handymen use tape measure frequently on the job site. A standard tape measure is marked in 1/16 inch divisions. Construction calculations often result in decimal numbers. In order to use the result with a tape measure, a handyman would do the conversion in his/her head by experience. It's a tedious task. With Fraction Calculator, you can simply enter the decimal number and press the Fr key on the keypad. This application software converts the decimal number into feet, inches and a simplified fraction in 1/16 inches for you, ready to use on a standard tape measure. All in a fraction of a second :-)

The Fraction Calculator also performs conventional calculator functions such as addition, subtraction, multiplication and division. It can also calculate square roots, inversions, powers. The fraction conversion function is integrated with the other functions for your convenience.
