The Go By Truck Locating mobile application uses Global Positioning Satellites (GPS) to assist carriers and shippers in locating their drivers and shipments. The locating feature is activated when a driver enables the locating feature on their Android device. After the feature is enabled, the driver is presented with a map showing their geo-location. The driver can view an updated map every five minutes. The locating feature is, of course, disabled immediately when the driver de-activates it. When activated, the locating application communicates the geo-location of the Android device to a Go By Truck server. As a result, carriers and shippers are then able to locate their drivers/shipments using the GBT web application. Another feature of the mobile application gives the driver the ability to view real time news, popular stories, and comments from gobytrucknews.com. Drivers can also see real time national diesel fuel rates, as well as view real-time weather respective to their geo-location. *Note: This application is intended for Go By Truck customers only. A valid username and password is required to use the features of the GBT mobile application.
