This is a demonstration version of an Android smartphone Group SMS application called SMS Pigeon to be released soon.

Although this is a demonstration version it can be obtained, for free, by parents, who wish to install it on the Android mobile phones they provide to their children. Once installed, the software can then be setup with a group of up to 50 contacts and corresponding distress SMS message that can be sent by a child/teenager when in an emergency situation. This would alert all contacts concerned quickly in the case of an emergency. Obviously, this application, of this demonstration, can be applied in many other emergency situations which people may face.

SMS Pigeon is a feature packed SMS blaster which will have the following functions:

1) Create an unlimited number of groups containing an unlimited number of phone contacts.

2) Create SMS messages which are associated with one of any of the user-defined groups.

3) Send SMS's to the phone contacts in their respective groups. You have the option to toggle group phone contacts on or off before sending.

4) Edit any group or SMS message.

5) Delete any group or SMS message.

6) Create a new SMS message by reusing one that already exists, within application scope, and edit it, then save it as a new SMS message.

7) Import and merge to applications database from an Excel spreadsheet (XLS file), in predetermined format.

8) Export to an Excel spreadsheet (XLS file), in predetermined format, from the applications database.

9) Automate the sending of SMS messages using daily, weekly, monthly or yearly criteria.

10) Turn on SMS Automation

11) Turn off SMS Automation

12) Search the applications database for groups or SMS messages that meet search criteria and then perform one of functions 3, 4, 5, 6 or 9 with basic search and do.

13) As function 12, but allowing more flexibility with search criteria, with advanced search and do.

14) Delete any of the phone contacts that have been put into history.

The demostration version of SMS Pigeon has got functions 1, 2 and 3 working with the limitations that you can only create one group of phone contacts and that the number of phone contacts within that one group is limited to no more than 50.
