During the Vietnam War, millions of cluster bombs were dropped on Laos, causing widespread destruction wherever they exploded. However, many of them did not trigger and today a third of Laos is covered with over 80 million bombs. Though the cluster bombs were designed for combat, their primary victims are innocent civilians.

LaoSweeper presents a narrative of the struggles that Laotians go through every day. You are a rice farmer who needs to harvest enough rice to sell but is plagued with a field littered with bombs. The objective of the game is to walk around the rice paddies and collect the rice while avoiding the bombs. Place flags where you think the cluster bombs are buried and weave your way around the field in a timely manner.
